Following in Woody Allen’s footsteps are director Rob Reiner and writer Nora Ephron, who made When Harry Met Sally (1989). It’s a lovely cinematic tribute to contemporary New York.  211). Though no physical combat took place in New York during World War II, there was plenty of espionage. A classic 1945 black-and-white thriller is The House on 92nd Street that tells the story of a Nazi spy ring—right on the exclusive Upper East Side.
